Blue House 2021
This was our 6th year to stay here. Always have a fantastic time swimming, fishing, relaxing, eating, enjoying the animals.

Waterfront Ranch House Perfection: a No-Hassle Mental & Physical Break from Real Life.
Superb rental all the way around. First the ranch is gorgeous, located in farm country between Austin & Houston, and filled with lovely tall pines normally associated with the Big Thicket in East TX. No flat scrubby farmland here! The house is nestled next to the private 10 acre lake, with a small but very comfortable Living area, and generous kitchen and dining space. 2 more large dining tables are on the back deck. All about family, views in every shady direction. We cooked A Lot! Bedrooms were upstairs, comfy and well appointed. One full bath up & down. Every switch, cabinet, and handle is labeled so you can find things easily. Wifi is excellent, phone coverage depends on the day/service provider. 5 teens and a 3 yo had a blast, 90% of the time they were fishing, swimming, jumping off the dock or swim platform in middle of the lake. Several small boats, a bin full of lake floats, life jackets in multiple sizes and fishing gear for every kid if they wanted: electronics forgotten. Best Ah-ha!! Moment? Realizing there was NO TRASH in, on or around this spring fed lake like you get at a public lake. Lake gets very clear if it hasn't been raining, and H2O temp was perfect. Easy fish catching...and a set of stairs/rails is built in to the dock for graceful entances/exits for those swimmers who need a sturdy/ graceful entrance into the water. Animals were great fun, the kids were shown where grooming tools, feed were kept, and kids loved locating them during the day to say hi.(bring carrots & Apples) The hosts and ranch hand love to explain what chores they are working on, and having the kids help out if intetested. Luther & Sandy were very responsive to questions and by the end of our 10 day stay, felt like part of our own family. Areas of note: * downstairs toilet is very short/low, if an issue for you, bring seat extender. * Bring ice for drinks with you. Fridge is older. Works great, but icemaker is in menopause. * Understand how a rural septic waste system works, and coach adults/kids in your group. If it's rainy, then sewer waste from the house sinks, showers, toilets won't have a place to go, and may back up unpleasant things up into shower drains until septic level drops. Not a big prob, but avoiding running faucets for dishes, toothbrushing, long &/or multiple showers at same time, dishwashing, and all water conservation & timing efforts help avoid issues. * Finally, come prepared to never want to go home!! We will be back!!!

Absolutely Perfect
We went for a girls' trip and had such an amazing time. The property is incredible and there are so many fun things to do! The house is quaint and comfy and just the right amount of lived in to make it feel welcoming. Make sure to take all your groceries and plenty of ice, as you aren't going to want to leave once you're there!
